alkyd archive

Christmas PictureAlthough I love the look of alkyds, they take a while to dry. So with this painting I decided to return to my former paint nemesis, acrylics. Fortunately we were able to work things out between us, largely due to the efforts of our mutual friend Matte Medium. April 25th, 1997
Estranged FlameRecognize the clouds in this painting? No?... Good, because I came up with them all on my own. November 20th, 1996
Prinklin's Last AudienceThe license plate in this painting contains a little piece of code encrypted with my own completely breakable .0025 bit algorithm. All I can tell you is that it has something to do with this girl named Laura that I was dating at the time. September 22nd, 1996
The Old Caruthers’ PlaceThe most difficult part of this painting for me was coming up with appropriate kid clothes. I generally just want to throw all humans under the age of eight into overalls (in my paintings, that is). August 18th, 1996
Uncle OakYour standard "ominous tree sort of looking at a girl on a bed in a strange mode of dress" painting. And no, he's not really an Oak (or an uncle). June 21st, 1996
Field Broom Trip UpOk, I admit it. This one was actually just an excuse to try my hand at painting multi-colored particle systems. It's kind of like that trippy pancake movie that we were shown in gradeschool, without the completely obvious drug subtext. searchcalendarrecent postscategoriesmediumsyear |
